invisible – faith is seeing the unseen

4. February 2016 by Simon

I’m currently reading Hebrews 11 as a guideline to read the mentioned Stories.
I am rocked at how much faith has to do with seeing the invisible. You know the verse:

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1, ESV)

Grace is what God offers us every day. Our part how ever, is to get grace working in our lives. And this happens through employing faith. Although faith is a gift from God (Eph 2:8), so we can’t choose to have / or not have it, we always have a choice to use it or not (parable of the talents, James 1:6, John 1:12, John 3:36, etc.). Everyone is given a portion of faith. The question is:

What are we doing with it?

Our choice to act in faith or not is first and foremost a question of seeing! Either we look at our circumstances and start to doubt everything, or we fix our eyes on the inner evidence of things unseen!

Just look at the first few verses of Hebrews 11!

  • V. 3 By faith we see creation as what it really is: Gods invisible word created a visible world!
  • V. 4: By faith we see sacrifice as a privilege: Something visible evaporates out of our control and gets into the hands of an invisible God!
  • V.5: by faith we see beyond the inevitable death, into eternal friendship with God.
  • V. 6 by faith we please God, because we look for him, the invisible, as a great rewarder.
  • V. 7 by faith we see events not yet happened as thou they where.
  • …. and so on! Nearly every verse of Hebrews 11 has to do with seeing.

There is no such thing as blind faith! Faith sees!

So in the next month I’ll start a series on faith as seeing the invisible.

So what do you see in your own life?
1. what do you see when you are only looking at what is visible?
2. What do you see when you lift up your eyes to the things you are hoping for?

Choose to see the things you are hoping for. Once you see them, they become evident in your life.

C3 is partnering with New Hope Eurasia for the Mol C3 is partnering with New Hope Eurasia for the Moldova Mission Trip (July 19–24), and we’d love for you to be part of it.

We are gathering a team of volunteers with a heart for outreach to serve at the “Breakthrough” camp - a meaningful week where women & children from Ukraine and Moldova, who have experienced trauma, can encounter Jesus’ love, forgiveness, and healing in a safe and caring space.

It’s also a week filled with joy in God. He is the perfect artist, gifting each of us unique skills that come together to bring hope and serve others in beautiful ways. If you love God and have a heart to serve, you are welcome - no expectations, just come as you are and be part of what He is doing.

Hey C3ZHkids! Here comes this month Bible verse. Hey C3ZHkids! Here comes this month Bible verse.

*God’s Gifts: Living by Grace and Giving with Joy*

In this 5 week Bible series we want to help our children to understand that everything that we have, comes from God, our talents, our salvation, and even our ability to love others. We will discover the gifts of the Spirit, the joy of giving, and how to live a life shaped by God’s grace.

Each lesson includes practical applications, discussion questions, and hands-on activities to help children grow in faith both at church and at home.

Faith isn’t a stagnant thing, it’s meant to move, Faith isn’t a stagnant thing, it’s meant to move, grow, and bear fruit. 🌱

We loved this perspective from Ps. Simon Ambler: God has already equipped you with everything you need for a godly life. Our part? Activating that faith through our daily choices.
Stop just looking at the bike. It’s time to start riding. 🚲

C3 Zürich exists so people can know Jesus, find be C3 Zürich exists so people can know Jesus, find belonging, and discover purpose and what better biblical example to learn from than the life of Peter.

Peter’s life reveals the raw journey from ordinary fisherman to Spirit-empowered apostle - called by Jesus. He is so relatable, because unlike other disciples, he is very transparent. He carries his heart on his sleeve. That gives us a chance to see how God takes ordinary people and transforms them as they follow Him.

Join us on this seven week series that was
shaped through failure, restored for purpose, and sent to multiply. We hope you find this insightful and encouraging in your faith journey.

Hey C3 Zurich Kids! This month we will learn tha Hey C3 Zurich Kids!

This month we will learn that God’s love never changes, that our thoughts matter, that our friendships should reflect kindness, and that following God is like training for an important race.
We want to learn to live according to God’s will, from the simplest things
to the most complex.

See you this Sunday and bring a friend. #c3zurich #wearec3 #c3zhkids #sundayschool #c3europe
